Yes, this is what got me started. I've loved this series for 20 years.
VIFAM is the story of 13 children, evacutees when their space/planet-colonies are suddenly attacked. They start out with a large group of survivors, traveling on the colony ship Janus to other space stations/planets in hope of relief from the enemies. The dwindling number of adults fight to protect them, until, by episode 7, there is only one left, Dr. Kate Hathaway. After this, the children are alone on the Janus, attempting to reach Earth.
The second season is called "VIFAM 13".
